4-5 Weeks!

Well it's my turn to keep you updated on all things about us!  I have made it through my first month of life and it's been pretty great!  I am growing and changing every day it seems!

My favorite thing in the whole wide world to do is snuggle.  I love love love to be held.  Apparently this love of being held is not conducive to Mommy getting anything accomplished.

I went to the Mall of America for the first time on President's Day.  I was not the only one who had the idea of going there that day.  It was PACKED! So much so that we ended up eating at one of the restaurants instead of the food court because there weren't any seats and the lines were super long.  I missed out on the entire meal because I was taking a nap.  I had my meal afterwards in the Nordstrom Women's Lounge.  The ambiance wasn't quite the same as Kokomos where the rest of my family ate.

This is my official "one month old" photo.

Here I am modeling the outfit my Nana knitted for me.  It's kind of like a sweater with feet!   It is super cozy and I look so adorable in it. Mommy tried her best but I was much too interested in staring at the oven door to look at the camera.  Sorry. That thing is fascinating!

Slowly but surely my snowsuit is starting to fit!

Megan and me playing on the floor.  She is really ready for me to be more interactive.  I have started to give a few smiles here and there so that has been exciting.

Megan put the green blanket down and told me that it was my stage.  Mommy asked her what I'd be performing on this stage.  She said I would be kicking.  I am pretty good at kicking my legs!

Big sister Megan still loves to hold me...usually once a day..and only for about a minute until she declares I'm too heavy.  Speaking of "heavy" , according to Wii fit I was 10.1 pounds at one month old.

Mommy hasn't been able to get a big smile on camera but was able to get this little one.

Other stuff:
  • My nighttime sleeping hasn't improved much.  Twice I have slept 5 hour stretches but that hasn't happened in awhile.  I'm back to my old tricks of every 2-3 hours.
  • I'm eating every 2-3 hours during the day so why not at night too?  I'm a growing boy and I like to snuggle.
  • Daddy went on his first work trip since I've been born so Grandma came to stay with us to help out.  Mommy really appreciated this since I'm not a great sleeper and I like to be held all the time and then I seemed to have caught a cold.  My poor little nose is congested and I've been sneezing.

3 Weeks Old!

Hi everyone! I'm officially three weeks old now.  This is me in my lumberjack outfit.  I look pretty tough and manly I think.

Then my parents dress me in monkey jammies and sort of take away from that......

I had a little tummy time here.  This is an infant's version of going to the gym.

I have enjoyed some quality time in my swing.  It's my preferred napping spot during the day (well my preferred spot is nestled in someones arms but that isn't always possible) and also provides me some entertainment during awake time.  I have started to notice the swimming fish that go around and around.
My parents think I look really cute and adorable when I hang out quietly with my eyes open during the daytime.  At night time they totally reverse their stance on my bright eyes and do all they can to get me to sleep.  Must be something about the lighting that changes their minds?  I'm confused.

I was pleased to meet a fellow infant friend named John.  He came to visit me last week.  Please disregard the pink bouncy seat.  My parents thought it was unnecessary to get me a manly bouncy seat and make me use Megan's old seat.  I thought since I was a boy I wouldn't have to deal with hand-me-downs but I guess I was wrong.
I had special visitors this week.  My Nana and Papa from Texas came to meet me and to play with big sister Megan.  Nana was an expert at getting me to settle down during my fussy times.  Mommy appreciated the help a lot!
Daddy and I watched some Michigan basketball. I was hoping I'd be a good luck charm for them and I was.  They squeaked out an overtime win.  I appear to not be paying attention to the game in this picture but believe me..I did my fair share of cheering.

This is a rose that was given in honor of me at church.  Megan thinks it is just like the rose in Beauty and the Beast.  Unlike the rose in Beauty and the Beast, it has not been losing its petals.  It's been a very hearty rose that still looks nice a week later!

Tomorrow marks Mommy's first day of taking care of two kids all on her own.  Megan and I talked it over and we're going to try to be on our best behavior to make it a little easier on her.

Additional stuff:
  • My nighttime sleep has been erratic.  Some nights are good with 1 or 2 wake ups where I eat and go right back to sleep and everyone is happy..and then there are others where I wake up a bunch, take forever to eat, and then stay awake for an extended period of time.
  • I'm having longer periods of awake time during the day.  Everyone keeps hoping that leads to more sleepy time at night.
  • According to Wii fit I weigh 8.9 pounds.  So close to 9 pounds!!
  • If you really want to hear me wail, change my diaper.  I hate diaper changes!
