2 Months Old! (8-9 weeks)

Hello!  I am all smiles these days.  Once I get going, the smiles are contagious and don't stop!  I'm wearing a sweater that my Nana knit for me.  It is so cozy and has kept me warm on these cold January...I mean March nights.  It has been really cold and snowy here.  Everyone over the age of 4 is really sick of winter.  I've been taking it in stride.

 And the photobomber is back!

Nana made us matching sweaters for Christmas.  Again, kind of ridiculous that late March is still a good time for warm sweaters but alas, that is life in Minnesota.

I can't wait until I can sit up on my own...then I'll have more opportunities for photos by myself.  Right now I need someone or something to hold me up.  Luckily I have a big sister that is a good holder!  She's better than the pink chair!  This week she helped give me a bottle. She's been really really wanting to do this for a long time. She did a very good job.

To keep with our theme of matching outfits, we wore our Mickey and Minnie Mouse outfits this week.  I was not a big fan of my Mickey Mouse ears, but at least we got a non-crying picture.

Just hanging out in my tub.  The "Bath Luve Frog" has yet again proven to be a bath time essential. It keeps me nice and warm while I chill out in the bathtub and get clean.

What else is new?
  • I had my 2 month checkup.  I weighed 12 pounds, 1 ounce and was 22 inches long.  I was 50th percentile for weight and 12th percentile for height.  My doctor thinks my length will catch up to my weight in no time.  Plus the infant measuring system isn't real accurate.  I did well getting my shots.  I cried a little when I got them but quickly got over it.
  • My sleeping at night has improved.  I have been going to bed between 9-9:30 and sleeping until 3 or 4 a.m. Then I eat and go back to sleep until 7 or 8.  Everyone is really happy with this new plan.  And everyone is really hoping that this continues!
  • I went to my first German restaurant this weekend.  Big sister went to Grandma's for the weekend.  Mom and Dad wanted me sleeping through dinner so we crossed the river over to Wisconsin to give me enough time to fall asleep in the car.  I woke up in the middle of dinner so they started scarfing their food thinking they needed to make a quick exit.  Then I went back to sleep so they decided to order dessert.

6-7 Weeks

Hello blog world!  I'm now 7 weeks old!  At about 6 weeks I weighed 11.1 pounds according to the Wii fit.  My parents forgot to weigh me this week (or maybe Mommy is avoiding Wii fit in fear she hasn't lost any weight this week..)  We did weigh my two kitties.  For those of you interested, Ashley weighed 17.5 pounds and Alex weighed 20 pounds.  I have a lot of catching up to do!

My new trick is smiling!  I'm smiling more and more so my parents have been able to capture them with the camera.  At first it was really hard to get me to smile. Now I'm much happier. Maybe I'm happier because I'm sleeping better at night (in turn, my parents are also happier).  For the last week I've been going to bed between 10-11 and getting up at 2:30 to eat and then sleeping until sometime in the 6:00 hour.  Let's count that as one wakeup even though  most of the time I'll go back to sleep until 8:30 or 9 usually.  This allows Mommy and Megan to start their morning routine and sometimes even get to shower.  It all depends on how cooperative big sister is with eating her breakfast in a timely manner.
Speaking of my big sister Megan, she has become quite the photo bomber.  If someone is trying to take my picture while she is around she is pretty insistent on being in the picture too.  Just wait Megan until I can insert myself into YOUR photos!  It won't be long!

We got a pretty decent snow storm here this week which caused the schools to close.  In the spirit of our snow day I wore my snowman outfit.  This was actually a baby present for Megan as the person giving it was really sure Megan was going to be a boy.  Four years later, I'm getting some good use out of it.
More smiles from me!  I've been a pretty happy boy lately.  I've been taking a couple really nice naps during the day (not in my Mommy's arms) so she has been so much happier too.  It's amazing what a little sleep can do for a person!

 Photo time for me...
 AAAAAANNNND she's back.

Rapunzel, aka Megan, wanted to hold me this afternoon.  Usually I start crying when she holds me but today I was in a really good mood and was even smiling while she was holding me.  Maybe I prefer blondes?
Big smiles in big sister's arms!
So far I've enjoyed the role of little brother. On Friday night Mommy was having a case of cabin fever and really wanted to get out of the house so she emailed Daddy and said, "I'm feeling dangerous! Let's go out to eat tonight!"  Everyone was all concerned about what my behavior was going to be like.  I was an angel.  My sister is the one who threw a fit and was crying.  Believe me, it wasn't me who was screaming, "I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE SMASHBOOGER!" as we walked out the door. It's called Smashburger but Megan keeps calling it Smashbooger.  No one wants to eat at a place called Smashbooger.....

Other stuff about me:
  • I'm starting to get into somewhat of a routine.  I have been taking at least two solid naps a day (like 2+ hours) and usually a shorter nap in the early evening.  I've been able to stretch out my eating to more like every 2-3.5 hours with these longer naps.
  • I'm enjoying my bath time more now that I'm in the big tub in my bath chair with my magical "Bath Luve Frog" that keeps me warm.
  • Diaper changes and clothing changes don't automatically make me scream my head off anymore.  Don't get me wrong, I still cry sometimes, but just not EVERY time like I used to.  This is more pleasant for everyone.
  • I go to the doctor next week for my 2 month checkup.  Can you believe it! I'm going to be 2 months old!
