Hey everyone! I'm 17 months old now! As a 17 month old I'm now asserting my independence and getting very opinionated. Unfortunately it's still hard for me to communicate my wants and that gets very frustrating!
Summer is here and we enjoy going to the park as a family. I'm refusing to go in my stroller these days. I prefer to push my stroller which doesn't really work because the walk to the park is a little far for my little legs. But I still like the wagon although my sister doesn't really enjoy it as I like to kick her, pull her hair, and all the other things pesky little brothers do.

Mommy took Megan and me to Toddler Story time at the library one day. Mommy was remembering how much Megan liked going to story time when she was my age. Well let's just say that Megan and I are not the same. I wanted nothing to do with the story time. I spent the whole time trying to push around other people's strollers (I wasn't lying about the stroller thing..it's what I really like to do). I did, however, really like it when the librarian brought out all kinds of toys at the end. This is opposite of toddler Megan too. Megan used to be so shy and timid and would never venture off Mommy's lap to get toys. I am bold when it comes to playing with new stuff!
In conjunction with the children's museum, the library now has a new fun play area. Megan and I had a lot of fun playing after story time.
Megan and Daddy participated in a race. Megan ran the kids race and Daddy ran a 5K. I jumped in the bouncy house they had set up there!
More fun at the park! I love going to the park! I want to be outside as much as possible. I grab my shoes and bring them to Mommy or Daddy. If that doesn't work, I go and get their shoes too.
Mommy and I went to drop in ECFE one Friday when Megan went to Grandma's for a few days. I had a great time and can't wait to start weekly ECFE classes this fall.
Megan, Mommy and me took a little mini vacation to Grandma's. We had lots of fun. We went to this park near Grandma's house.
The best part of our trip was getting to go to the pool. They have a perfect pool for little guys like me.
I found this thermometer and promptly put it in my ear. Too bad it's actually the armpit kind of thermometer.
I'm always finding random things in the garage to play with.....
Looking like a big boy!
Daddy set up the water table and sprinkler one hot day. Megan and I had lots of fun. Surprisingly on this day I kept my hat on. I don't think I've done that since!
Sprinkler fun
We went out to dinner at BW3's one night. Mommy thought I might like this hat. I did not...
We went out for frozen yogurt one night. I really liked having frozen yogurt in the cup, but refused to eat it or let anyone else feed it to me. Dad said next time I was only getting the sample cup.On Saturday we went to Patio Town because Megan wanted to meet Elizabeth Ries from Twin Cities Live. I always nap during the show so I had no idea who she was.
I was pretty thrilled to meet Patio Pete though! He was amazing!
No hiding from me!
I'm still a pretty enthusiastic eater. On this particular day Mommy was cooking dinner. I helped myself to the peas that were on the counter.
I'm also a pretty enthusiastic dancer. I've heard Achy Breaky Heart so many times it has become one of my favorites. I made up my own moves though since I don't tap.
What else is new?
- I'm sprouting a molar and maybe some other teeth. I've been pretty cranky pants about it.
- I'm learning more words all the time. The things I say the most are "yeah" "nooooooo!" and "all done". I get very excited when I see a dog. I call them "pup pups" Its very adorable. I also like saying "bubbles" and "bottle" and "baby"
- I'm taking 1 nap most days. I still take 2 if I get up too early in the morning.
- I'm starting to like playing with trains. My other favorites are playing in the play kitchen, cars/trucks, making vroooom sounds.
