Greetings! It may be July but we have to go all the way back to May to start this story! Mom took this picture of Megan and I. We were pulling weedy grass out of the lawn. Dad was in California for work. Mom wanted to wear us out for a few more minutes before having supper and going to gymnastics class. Megan bored of picking grass and went over to the playground. I, of course, followed her as that's what I do. Then we started fighting over the disc rope swing. Mom's rule is that if we fight over something, then none of us get to play with it/use it/etc. So she took the disc and attempted to throw it up over the beam so that the swing was on timeout. Well unfortunately she missed and the disc hit the beam and slammed right back in my mouth. There was a lot of blood and a lot of tears. Once the bleeding calmed down Mom realized that my front teeth were jammed up into my gums about halfway. This was 5:15 p.m. on a Wednesday. Mom called our dentist's office and was thankful that our dentist puts his cell phone on the answering machine. Mom called and got his voice mail. Thankfully the dentist called back a few minutes later and told us he could come meet us at his office. Some mad texting with our babysitter ensued as Mom was realizing that there was basically no way that she'd be able to get Megan to gymnastics on time tonight without some help! Amy to the rescue! We got to the dentist and he checked me out. He wanted to do x-rays but I wasn't cooperating so we went the "wait and see" route. After the swelling went down, things looked much better and I'm happy to report now that it's been a couple months (and one follow up visit later) and my teeth have shifted back down. They are still a bit crooked but no longer jammed in my gums and are so far not showing any signs of needing to be removed. It's been an answer to a lot of prayers as Mom felt TERRIBLE about the whole ordeal and really didn't want me to be front toothless for the next 6 years!
Mom and I took a trip to IKEA to get a support board for my new (to me) bed. Mom was feeling really bad about the whole teeth incident and her friend was selling a car bed at her garage sale. So look what I got!
My new car! It needed a good washing before bringing it into the house since it had previously been stored in a barn. We took our job as car washers very seriously. It was a very wet event.
My new car bed is SOO cozy and fun. I love it! Almost worth getting my teeth almost knocked out.
This was May which means sometimes we wear t-shirts and shorts to the park.
Megan has this cool 3D sidewalk chalk. I look pretty awesome in my (her) 3D glasses.
Megan's side note: "HEY WHEN DID YOU PLAY WITH MY SIDEWALK CHALK?
Megan's school had a 5K race fundraiser. At the race they had a lady making really awesome balloon animals. I got this balloon Elmo that was pretty cool. Did you know that balloon Elmo's really enjoy swinging?
And slides
Aaaand back to coats again! That's May for you. And back to the pink bike.
This was on my last day of ECFE. We had a little picnic at the park.
Our beloved Miss Jodi blowing bubbles for us.
Miss Jodi and Miss Sophia and all of my friends from ECFE. We had such a little class this year and it was so much fun. We got SO much attention.
Saying goodbye to Miss Jodi. This was the saddest part of the whole year. I'm really hoping she's my teacher this fall! I LOVE MISS JODI.
This was a particularly exciting part of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
In case you were wondering if I still have awesome bed head. The answer is YES
My buddy Logan and I at Choo Choo Bob's Train store. Logan and I are good buddies.
Apparently this is not how you play bags? Who knew?!
Rocking out with my hot pink guitar and monkey jammies. I just scream rock star.
The next day I went to ANOTHER graduation party. My babysitter Amy graduated from high school. She's the number one lady in my life (after Mom of course).
Nana and Papa came to visit in order to attend Megan's dance recital. We got some good park playing in.
We also took a trip to Como Town for some rides.
I loved seeing the tiger at Como Zoo. I called him "Daniel" like my favorite tiger, Daniel Tiger of course.
We even had time for the conservatory. It was a busy morning!
Some day I'm probably going to be embarrassed by this photo....
We took Nana and Papa to Afton to go to the famous Selma's Ice Cream Parlour. Yuuuuummmy!
Mom told Megan to go upstairs to get her dance costume on. I heard this and decided I needed a costume too. I need more costumes. This is the only one I have.
This is one of my very favorite things to do.... pretend to drive Moms' car. My weird expression is because I'm yelling, "CHEESE!"
The last night of gymnastics was "beach day" so we were to wear our swimming suits and had beachy themed things to do. The whale on the trampoline was pretty awesome.
Taking a beach break..
Before school let out, Mom and I and some friends had a morning at Como Town. I had a blast on all the rides.
My friend Clara and I on the horse and cart ride
The fire truck ride is my favorite.
Chooooo choooooo!
Driving the car... again.
I'm learning how to cook. Right now my specialty is pudding. "Mixa mixa mixa!" is what I say.
Don't worry...Mom doesn't let me actually take things out of the oven.
Mom and I did some major ceiling fan shopping at Menards. I was patient with this activity to a point.
Oops! Another Nana and Papa picture that got out of order. I took them to Choo Choo Bob's too so they could see the fun train store too.
Steven giving me a push. He's such a good guy.
I love all things minions even though I've never seen any of the movies. I'm just drawn to them!
This is the PG version of a potty shot. Yes you heard it, I'm starting to go on the potty. If you ask me to go potty, so far I always say, "YES!" and sit down and actually go.
I've graduated to cooking "cookie salad". It's advanced pudding basically.
Megan is all done with school for the summer so time for some brother-sister activities. We found a cool morning to go strawberry picking. It was a mostly fun activity. I did throw a bit of a fit in the middle of the strawberry patch because I wanted to pick the "orange strawberries" and Mom said we could only pick the red ones.
All of our neighbors whose houses were built after ours last fall (we got the last sod of the season) got their sod and landscaping one week. This was very entertaining for me. Mom and I hung out on our front porch watching the action. I needed a snack of course.
Our view. Watching the scooping of mulch and it riding down the street was so exciting.
We love to go to the Puppet Wagon each week. It comes to the park really close to our house so we are regulars.
Playing with a puppet after the show.
Of course the coolest part of the puppet wagon is the red truck that hauls it. This is me saying bye to the red truck.
Megan went to Vacation Bible School and the theme was "Jesus Camp Discovery". To go with the camping theme, they set up a bunch of tents. I always needed some exploring time during drop off. Next year I'll be old enough for VBS! I'm so excited!
Mom wasn't sure how I could sleep like this.
Bubble bath time!
On this day I decided to forgo my nap. Not only did I skip my nap, but I also took out all of the clothes out of my bin of outgrown clothes. Mom wasn't too happy about having to refold and pack them back up again. This may have happened 2 days in a row.............
I got a new Paw Patrol hat and I LOVE IT.
A rare, loving moment.Climb, climb, climb!
An evening stroll
We found a new restaurant called Firehouse Subs. It's FIRE STATION THEMED! And you get fire hats. Really doesn't get much better than that.
Wait it does get better. It is located next to Cherry Berry.
Some fire rescues going on wearing jammies.
The water gun is my favorite.
At first I would only sit on the steps and play with my water toys. One day Mom invited a friend of hers over and she has a daughter that is a month older than me. She is fearless and just flung herself into the water and was swimming all over using her floatie. I noticed this and decided I wanted to swim too. And ever since then I just love doing my "scoops" all over the pool and burn off lots of energy.
A quick stop at DQ for dinner before the parade.
I was much happier at the parade this year. You might recall last year some photos of me throwing tantrums in the street. This year I'm much more mature and I also have my own parade chair so that makes me pretty happy too.
Love my mom!
Megan and I made 4th of July cupcakes. I could hardly wait to eat one.
Dad and I attempt a dock selfie. I just look confused.
Hanging out at the cabin
I love dogs!!
I'm one cool dude
I think Mom was saying something really wise
My mail truck! I accidentally dropped it into the lake. Daddy was my hero and went into the lake and found it!
Love my mail truck!
A little dinner on the deck in my favorite chair.
Playing with Megan. She's trying to teach me the ABC's. I like A and H. Other letters are of no consequence to me.
Bedtime shenanigans
Megan went to a Farm Camp. Each day when we dropped her off I was SO sad because I really wanted to go Farm Camp. "Andrew go to camp too!!!!!" Each day Mom told me that on Friday I'd get to go to camp too as they let family come for the last half hour of camp on the last day. Friday finally arrived and I was so happy. This is me and some goats.
Petting a sheep
Riding (sitting) on a tractor
I cannot wait until I'm old enough for farm camp too. It is so awesome.
I thought it was HILARIOUS when Megan fed the baby calf.
The basement gets less use in the summer since we try to get outside but sometimes it's just too hot or too rainy.
On this day it was rainy. Megan went to her soccer game but it was cancelled due to a storm.
Having fun with the small group kids
A park with a red car is always a good combination.
Chilling at the pool.
We went to see the kids band "The Bazillions" last week.
We ran into Megan's friend Simon from school. I was supervising them.
TC Bear was the guest at library story time last week. It was love at first sight. All I could talk about was the "fuzzy bear"
What's new with me?
- I am speaking more and more in sentences. I love to sing. We are taking a music class this summer. I don't sing during class but sing all of the songs later. Mom is always amazed at how many songs I actually know. I'm paying more attention than anyone gives me credit for.
- Whenever I hear the word "Valley" I start singing a song from Megan's K-1 concert "Valley Crossing Valley Crossing We Love to Sing!"
- I like to ask "What's that?" all day long. Most of the time I already know what things are so it's kind of annoying to everyone else. One day while folding laundry I pointed to my swimming suit and asked, "What's that?" Mommy said, "Andrew what is it?" and I said proudly, "It's my my swimming costume!"
- If you ask me a question, instead of saying "yes" lately I've been saying, "Ummm sure!"
- I'm still really willing to try new foods. I don't always like them but I'll usually at least take a bite. If I don't like it, I say, "I can't like this!"
- I'm about 32 pounds according to the bathroom scale
- I got new shoes today that are size 9. I'm growing up so fast!
- Meal times go much better when I have a few toys at the table. Usually a car or a truck or a bus. Otherwise I like to take a bite of food and then run around.
