Late fall/early winter

Greetings!  Time to catch you up on my fall and winter so far!

I just love my sister.  I have my own way of showing love that my sister doesn't appreciate much but I do love her.

Mom had a doctor's appointment so Dad took me to the park.  He doesn't usually get to go to a park in the middle of his work day so it was an extra special treat for him too.

On Friday nights Mom usually takes Megan to Pom Team and Dad and I run errands to manly places like Home Depot.

Grandma really liked these blankets so she asked us to pick up a bunch of them.  They took up our whole cart!

The blocks that Uncle Steve gave us last year continue to be great entertainment.

Some friends of ours had a baby that was born a bit early and needed to spend a little time at the children's hospital.  Since kids aren't allowed in the NICU I got to play at the cool play room there.  I keep asking if we can go play at the hospital again.  But little baby Lincoln is home and doing great now.

I'm now a model!  I am gracing the cover of the phone book!  I am accepting all modeling gigs that involve eating ice cream.

It's probably no surprise that I wanted to be Daniel Tiger for Halloween this year.  I was so excited when my costume arrived in the mail.  My costume came with a built in tummy (in case you were thinking I was getting a big belly!)

Friday night errands with Dad took us to the bike store where I fell in love with this balance bike.

The house next door getting final touches done.  I really miss all of the construction vehicles (no one else does...).  All of the houses are built in our neighborhood now.  Only thing left is for everyone to get lawns and driveways this spring/summer.

I'm doing pretty good in swimming lessons.  I made it to the 3 year old class before I even turned 3!

Looking cute at the ECFE Monster Mash!

 I'm a bouncy tiger!

We went to a fall festival.  I really wanted to ride a pony.  Once the pony started moving I got VERY nervous.  I kept saying, "Is it done yet?"  I never cried but I really didn't enjoy it.

I did, however, LOVE feeding the animals at the petting zoo.

Mom and I enjoy going out to lunch for a little date. On this day we ate a new authentic taco place that is SO yummy.

One day we went to visit Dad at his office. He put me to work right away.  I solved a few issues.

Trick or Treating at Kowalskis is always great.

Some friends from church went to an assisted living facility and trick or treated with the residents.  They loved seeing us in our cute costumes. Plus we got cookies and lemonade---and let's face it...there's nothing better than cookies and lemonade in my opinion.

Dad did a good job with the pumpkins!

Dad ran the "Monster Dash" race so I helped him pick up his race packet.  They were really into their theme!

 Doing my best monster face.

We parked at the science museum so we took a few minutes to play before coming home.

Trick or Treat time!  For Megan and me, getting to ring doorbells and talk to people is really a highlight of the year.  We are both very social and love costumes.

I needed a garage for my car.

Blocks can also be a vet clinic.

A rare time of painting at ECFE.  I tend to never want to do art projects.

Whenever Mom vacuums I get my vacuum and help her too.  Mom's pink vacuum was against the wall so I got mine out to be right next to it.

I was ready for a picnic this day.

Mom was trying to fold laundry and I was pretending to be a dinosaur.  Mom decided the only way to get laundry done was to put me in a "cage".  I LOVED IT.

We went to the Veterans Day program at Megan's school.  I made it through the hour long program although I did spend some time crawling under folding chairs.

Finally a little snow!  And I'm still riding my bike.

In order to stay warm in Minnesota you need to "bundle up!"  That includes stealing your sister's Anna hat and putting your own hat on top.

First snow and my waterproof mittens were missing so Megan's old pink mittens became mine.

 First snowman of the year.

 First sledding of the year

We had been dabbling in potty training for 6 months or so with not a ton of consistent results.  Then came a little trip to Sams Club.  I saw this digger and it was love at first sight.  Mom said if I learned how to use the potty all the time that I could get this digger.

 Fun at ECFE

We got to go on the North Pole Express.  This was the engineer!

Getting ready to board the train!

When we got to the North Pole, Santa came on board.  I had a lot to tell him.

He thought he could grant my Christmas wish.

Helping Mom make caramel corn.  Holiday preparations were a lot of fun.  I sampled a lot of goodies.  I was Mom's official taste tester.

We watched the Nutcracker Ballet at MOA for Toddler Tuesday.  Mom said if I let her do some shopping I could pick out one ride.

I like to sit as close as possible to Mom at meal times.  Mom thinks it'd be nice to have a little space.

Decorating our little tree with Megan.

My first dance show!  I did a really good job.

 I'm an enthusiastic dancer

 Something was shocking!

We did our annual trip to Macys Santa Land.  I was very intrigued by Santa's beard.

Mom and I went to Megan's school for their annual holiday sing a long.  I loved the sing a long--especially when Jingle Bells was sung!  I couldn't keep my Christmas spirit in!

Megan had her 7th birthday.  Thankfully Christmas was close by and Megan let me open the present from her so that she could open all of her birthday gifts in peace.  It worked very well.

And then it was Christmas!

I have commentary about everything!

I got a new bike!  It's a balance bike (no wheels).  In theory, I will learn to balance on this bike and go straight to a 2 wheeler (no training wheels).  We'll see! In the mean time, I'm having a lot of fun riding it around the house.

Paw Patrol is on a roll!

And look here...I got my digger.  I'm a big boy who wears underwear now!  I refer to myself as "Big Boy Andrew" quite often.

Some snowy fun over Christmas break

A sled ride through the neighborhood.  Daddy was our horse.

Sledding selfie!

We celebrated New Years at the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells.  The special NYE buffet was awesome.  The food was good, but the dessert buffet was amazing.  I decided I needed to try a lot of things.

Partying in the lobby

On New Year's Eve we went to our favorite restaurant, Buffalo Phils.  It wasn't busy at all, so we got to help run the train that delivers food and drinks to guests.

I got to go on a tube slide for the first time!  I LOVED IT.  I wanted to go on the yellow tube more and more and more.

Oops this picture got out of order.  Dad and I celebrating the new year!  Well we actually just celebrated it turning 9:00 on 12/31.

We got back and It was time for Megan's birthday party with her friends.  I got to crash her bakery party for a little while.

Eating lunch with the big kids! I had to go home and take a nap before it was cake time so I got to pick out a treat from the bakery case.

And then January 4th happened.... We were walking in the door after getting haircuts, I tripped and fell head first into the wooden steps.  My head immediately swelled and I cried a lot.  And then I didn't really talk much which is really not like me at all so my parents decided to take me to the pediatrician to get checked out.  Nothing broken and by the time the doctor saw me I was back to my old self chatting away.  I just got a little dazed there for awhile!  This is what I looked like about 3 hours after my injury.

This is me the next day.  The swelling is gone now, but I still have a mark in between my eyebrows in the shape of a heart.  My mom thinks it's still bruising that needs to heal and hoping it's not a scar.

Day 3....

Day 4.....

We finally (after a year or so) got our Wii fixed.  The good news is that I'm finally old enough to sort of be able to play it.  I liked the Elmo game.

Mom went on a girls trip to San Diego so we did lots of fun things at home while she was away.  Megan made popcorn.  I had my fire gear on just in case of an emergency.

This is me at Sesame Street Live.  The show was ok but playing with the chair was much more fun.

And then I turned THREE!  I had a Daniel Tiger birthday party again although this year was much more festive because the birthday party supply industry finally caught up with the times and started producing Daniel Tiger birthday party supplies!  I insisted on having a birthday cake even though I don't really like cake.  I wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting but Mom said that wouldn't work with the decorations.  So I got my own little mini chocolate cake with chocolate frosting that I ended up not eating at all (my sister Megan enjoyed it).  I ate one spoonful of this cake total.  I like the idea of a birthday cake more than actually eating it.

Now opening presents I could do all day long!  The other day I asked my mom, "Please can we put up the Christmas tree and put presents under it today?"

I got lots of nice presents.  This "O the Owl" keeps me company while I nap and sleep at night.

Mom and I usually do the weekly grocery shopping after gymnastics.  My favorite place to go is the "green grocery store with the red letters" which is more commonly known as Hy-Vee.  Now that I'm three Mom lets me use the little grocery cart even when we are shopping for lots of groceries (before it was limited to only times that we needed a couple things and she could keep a better eye on me).  I'm taking this responsibility quite seriously.  The first time she let me do this she had pretty scraped up ankles from all the times I rammed my cart into the back of her ankles when she'd stop suddenly.  I've learned not to follow so closely.

A little bit after my birthday a homemade "Tigey" came in the mail.  Mom found someone on Etsy who crochets Tigeys.  Since they are hand made it didn't quite get here in time for my birthday.  I was super excited to get a package and even more excited when I saw who it was.  He sleeps with me too.  My bed is pretty full of friends these days.

Showing off my awesome bed head.

When 2nd semester started at school, I started going to school 1 day a week by myself!  We get dropped off curbside and our teachers walk us in.  So now I go to school 2 days a week--once with mom, and once on my own.  Some of the other kids are nervous about this but I start saying bye to mom before she even parks the car.  I love being a big boy going to big boy school!

And to finish off  "birthday season" in our house, Daddy turned 40!

I was really helpful to Daddy when it was time for present opening.

Who needs toys when there are empty boxes?  This box has been a hat, an ambulance, and more.

This was my first ice cream cone.  I've eaten plenty of ice cream but never in my own little cone.  I did a good job and didn't make too much of a mess.

My dream came true and I got to go on my very first field trip on a school bus!

I look nervous here but really I was just very serious about hanging on for awhile. Note my friend next to me being on the opposite spectrum of safety consciousness.

Our field trip was to the children's theater to see "The Bear Snores On".  The show was pretty good.  The bus ride was epic.

The swelling has gone away, but I still have a scar or a bruise left from my accident.  Grandma got me a Star Wars bath robe.  I love my "wobe"  I have never seen Star Wars so if you ask me what is on my robe I say "bears".

Some more epic Andrew hair.

My sister and I fight quite a bit.  But every once in awhile we have sweet moments like this.

Megan has been practicing her Pom routine.  I decided I would become her understudy in case I need to be called on at a moment's notice to fill in for her.

Whew! We made it! Only took a month to get this blog post finished!
