Trip to Pennsylvania

Alright as promised, here is our official trip report from our Pennsylvania adventure in August.  Mom and Dad told us we were going on vacation but the location was a secret.  That made it even more fun!  Since Megan got to tell you about our last vacation, it's my turn to give the report.  The trip started out fantastically as we got to board a bus right away at the airport.  There is a new parking ramp that has door-to-door van service.  It works really slick and it's cheaper than the regular airport ramp.
I was really hoping we could take the yellow plane but we took Delta instead.  We flew to Philadelphia, got our rental car, and headed to Langhorne, home of Sesame Place.

Megan and I both woke up in the middle of the night on separate occasions so Mom didn't have the most restful start to vacation.  We were up bright and early to head to Sesame Place for breakfast with the characters.  Last time we went, we had lunch with them.

Megan and I LOVE characters!

After breakfast we headed outside to find some rides.  We were interrupted by a rain shower.  This would continue to happen throughout the day.

Sorry a few of these pictures got out of order.  Here is me at breakfast.

Bye Elmo! Time to find another character!

The rain stopped again, and time for more rides.

Every time we got in line for a character greeting outside it started to rain.
Notice Grover's umbrella
We found a somewhat covered spot for character greetings.

I LOVED the big parade!  It managed to not rain during it .

Megan and I on the big fire engine.  We took a look at the sky and the radar and knew we should get out of Sesame Place quick as a big storm was coming.  We made it to the hotel shuttle back to our car and headed to our next secret location......Lancaster, PA!

We stayed at a Doubletree that had a little water park in it.

After we dried off, we headed to Hershey, PA for some chocolate fun!

Dad and Megan on the little ride that teaches you about how chocolate is made.

MMMMMMMM chocolate!

The first "non-chocolate" thing we encountered.  Jolly Rancher guy was pretty cool.

We went to the "Create Your Own Dessert" station.  This was really a dream come true for us.  You got to pick you treat (ice cream, cookie, or cupcake), then go to the buffet line where you picked your frosting of choice, and any chocolate treats you wanted to put on your plate.

They even let us "paint" with frosting on the table.

The finished product!

Our creations! Dad had ice cream, Mom had a cupcake, and Megan and I had cookies.

We got "to go" boxes because we really couldn't eat all of that!
One more chocolate guy to hang out with before heading on the road.  We were off to our last secret location with secret guests meeting us there.  We ended up in Donegal, PA and Nana and Papa pulled into the Holiday Inn parking lot about 2 minutes after we did!  They were on their way back to Virginia from Michigan where they had gone on a little trip!
Our last big surprise was a visit to Idlewild Park.  This is us at the storybook village.

Checking out Geppetto and his puppets.

We tried really hard but we did not pull the sword from the stone.

"Riding" on Aladdin's magic carpet

The real reason we came to Pennsylvania..... Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood!  Idlewild has a new Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood section of the park.  I was in awe.

Here we are waiting to go on the trolley ride through the neighborhood.

On the trolley
Katerina Kittycat and O the Owl in their tree house.

Miss Elaina in the Museum Go Round

Prince Wednesday's castle

After the trolley ride it was time to check out all of the other rides. Megan and I love going on rides.

Driving the boats.  We get along so well when we are on a ride.

At last it was time for the Daniel Tiger show.

I love Daniel and Katerina

Megan went in the giant ball pit as her last activity of the day.

I played with this contraption for quite awhile.

After we had our fill at Idlewild, it was back to the hotel and then off to have one last dinner with Nana and Papa.  In the morning we had breakfast and headed to Pittsburgh to fly home.

The official end to vacation.  Time to say goodbye to our pilots and a big thank you for getting us home safely.  Despite not taking a single nap on vacation, I did great.  I pretty much crashed when I got home though!

That's it for our trip report!
